HARDY WATER LILIES (NYMPHAEA)

Red Varieties
Attraction -
Garnet. Large flowers, slight fragrance.
Conqueror -
Crimson. Large flowers. Young foliage purple turning green.
Ellisiana -
Dark Red. Many petals.
Gloriosa -
Carmine Rose. Semi double flowers.
Liou -
Deep Red. Great lily. Tolerates heat.

White Varieties
Candida -
Creamy white. Small waxy flowers.

Rose. Sweetly scented. Flower color deepens with age. Spotted petals. White sepals.
Pink Sensation -
Pink. Large flowers. Fragrant. Stays open late. Profuse bloomer.

Changeable Varieties
Chrysantha -
Reddish-yellow. Blooms turn red with age. Free flowering. Commanche - Yellow to apricot. Leaves speckled when older.
Graziella -
Orange-red. Ideal for tub gardens. Blooms profusely. Olive green leaves spotted with brown and purple.
Sioux -
Yellow to copper/red. Star shaped flower.

FLOATING LEAF AQUATICS
A. distachyus -
Water Hawthorne - Oblong green mottled leaves. White flowers in early spring and late fall. Plant goes dormant in hot summer months. First to flower in spring.
N. peltata -
Floating Heart - Mottled brown and green leaves, 3 inches in diameter. Yellow flower held above water. Invasive.

OXYGENATING PLANTS
Elodea canadensis -
Dark green stems with lighter green fern-like foliage. Good spawning medium.
Myriophyllum -
Needle-like fine green leaves. Favorite for spawning.
Sagittaria form. Natans -
Submerged ribbon like foliage. Height 6 inches.

HARDY MARGINAL/BOG PLANTS
Typha augustifolia -
Narrowleaf Cattail - Narrow dark green blades. Thin catkin 5-6 inches long.
T. latifolia -
Cattail - Broad dark green blade. Catkin 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter, 5 to 6 inches long.
T. laxmanni -
Graeful Cattail - Narrow leaves. Walnut size catkin.
T. minima -
Dwarf Cattail - Narrow leaves. Walnut sized catkin.
T. shuttleworthi -
Shuttleworth Cattail - Dark green pendulous blade.
Veronica beccabunga -
Common Brookline - Trailing stems. Dark blue flowers.
Halia dealbata -
Hardy Water Canna - Dark green leaves held individually on each stem. Spray of purple and white flowers displayed well above foliage.
Chelone lyoni -
Turtlehead - Dark Green foliage topped with pink flowers in late summer.
Eleocharis tuberosa-
Water Chestnut- Fleshy green stems with tuberous roots.
Equisetum hymale -
Horsetail Rush - Tubular jointed green stem, one of the oldest known plants. Do not submerse until well established.
Equisetum sciroides-
Dwarf Horsetail Rush- Clump of dark green jointed stems. Good ground cover for moist areas.
Myosotis palustris -
Water Forget-Me-Not - Dense mat of tiny green leaves. covered with tiny blue flowers.
Phalaris arunidinacea -
Ribbon Grass - Green and white foliage. Pendulous nature.
