Marginal Plants

These plants can be planted from 2 to 8 inches into the water. They don't need as many nutrients from soil as do the water lilies. They get what they need from the water which makes them great competition for the nutrients algae like and great filters to help keep your water clean. Your pond should include rushes and sedges to add dimension around the edges as well as monkey flower, duck potato and purple iris for color.
